Mark chats about his Business Intentions for 2024

So many of you will know I love working with the moon's phases. This is why I don't believe in setting New Year's resolutions at the start of the year. After a slow start to the year filled with lots of rest and some time for reflection, plus this week's new moon in Capricorn, it felt the right time to put pen to paper and come up the my 2024 business-focused intentions:
  1. Our business has evolved into mainly an online business and 2024 will be about maximising our presence on Etsy as well as growing our online customer base via our website. Running an online business isn't as easy as having a website and an Instagram page (if only). This year we intend to look at the deep work involved including SEO, online advertising etc.
  2. In saying that, we are thrilled to be launching a bigger retail space at The Emporium and we will be focusing a lot of energy on building the space into a shopping destination that reflects our brand. The new retail space is the perfect opportunity for us to spend more time with our customers so look out for the times when we will be in-store to chat with you about our products and much more. We are also looking at ways to do more events with our stockists and hopefully launch our workshops later in the year.
  3. We run every aspect of our business from home and in the summer of last year we were given the option to buy our apartment. This meant we couldn't focus on Christmas, if we pushed Christmas sales and we had to move mid-season it would have been chaos so we decided to pull back and just get the mortgage sorted. Now that it's sorted, we are already planning for Christmas 2024 and we have some wonderful new products on the way which will start with a Summer Collection and then roll into Autumn and Christmas. Stay tuned.
  4. We wanted to get to the trade shows this year to increase our wholesale business but as explained above it just wasn't the right time. So now, the focus is on getting the business ready so we can be at the trade shows next year.
  5. And finally, we want to become more personal when it comes to content. This has been on the whiteboard forever and this year we are going to work harder on making content that showcases more of the behind-the-scenes stuff, more making, adding some tutorials, and just basically making it more about us and our journey rather than the "hey look at this lovely product" content.

Here is to a truly magical 2024.
